What does embedding a video mean?

Embedding a video means integrating a video into another web page, so the video can be watched directly on that page without the viewer having to go to the original video location (for example YouTube or Vimeo). This is done using a piece of code (the so-called “embed code”) provided by video platforms. When you watch a video on YouTube, for example, you will usually find a “Share” option below the video player. Clicking it shows several options, including one to embed the video. When you select that option, the embed code is displayed, which you can then copy and paste into the HTML of your web page. By embedding videos, businesses, bloggers and other content creators can add media such as YouTube videos to their websites, which can help increase visitor engagement and retention. It lets you present video content in the context of related information, such as a blog article or a product description.
